In March, border guards seized over 330 kg of drugs from illegal traffic
Baku/01.04.23/Turan: 51 violators of the Azerbaijani border were detained in March, the State Border Service reported on April 1.
Among the violators, 23 are citizens of Azerbaijan, 10 – Afghanistan, 6 – Pakistan, 5 – Iran, 2 – Tajikistan, 1 each – Georgia, India, Guinea, Liberia, Palestine.
As part of the measures to combat illegal migration, 24 people were detained while trying to cross the state border using fake passports, visas and stamps with dates.
Appropriate measures have been taken against 988 people for violating the rules of the border regime.
As a result of the measures taken to combat crime, 294 people were detained and transferred to the relevant authorities, 429 persons were prevented from leaving the country, who were forbidden to leave the country, and 19 people were prevented from entering.
As a result of measures to combat illicit drug trafficking, 330 kg 909 g of narcotic drugs and 7,613 psychotropic pills were seized.
As a result of anti-smuggling measures, contraband totaling 4 million 235 thousand 748 manats was detained, including narcotic drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and counterfeit stamps.—06B-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
