Iranian drug smuggling attempt prevented
Baku/21.01.23/Turan: On January 20, at around 18:35, Azerbaijani border guards prevented an attempt to smuggle drugs from Iran near the village of Shukurbeyli, Jabrayil region.
In the course of border search and operational activities, two bundles with narcotic drugs with a total weight of 13 kg130 gram were discovered and seized: including 9 kg. 880 gr. Marijuana; 3 kg. 250 gr. opium; and 2,000 tablets of the psychotropic substance metadon M-40.
Operational and investigative measures are ongoing, the press center of the State Border Service said. --06B--
