Killers of Journalist Sentenced to Long Terms
The Court of Grave Crimes today issued sentences on a group of persons found guilty of causing grievous injuries to the journalist Rasim Aliyev, after which he died in hospital.
The judge Eldar Ismayilov sentenced Elshan Ismayilov to 13 years in prison, Jamal Mammadov - to 11, Arif Aliyev - to 12.5, Kanan Madatov and Samir Mustafayev - to 9 years in prison.
At the same time, under arrest is a well-known football player Javid Huseynov, who is considered the organizer of the crime. However, the case against him has been separated, and he was charged with failure to report planned crime (article 307.1 of the Criminal Code). The rest of the prisoners were convicted under articles of the Criminal Code 126.3- and 177.1- (theft).
Recall that the reason for the conflict was the replica of the journalist in the social network of misconduct of the footballer of the club Gabala Javid Huseynov at a briefing after the match. This outraged friends and relatives of the player that 8 August 2015 called the journalist to "talk" and brutally beat him. A day later, Rasim Aliyev died of internal bleeding. Javid Huseynov himself claims not involved in this, and says he knew nothing about the plans of his relatives to "teach" the journalist.
At the same time, the injured party and the accused demanded to prosecute doctors of the hospital that did not provide the proper treatment to the journalist though they could save him. -16D-
