Labor Inspectorate Warns Employers about Extreme Heat
Baku / 08.08.17 / Turan: The State Labor Inspection under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population appealed to employers in connection with the strong heat on these days.
The Inspectorate reports that the Labor Code prohibits any work in the open air at a temperature of +41 and above, as well as in rooms that do not have a cooling system. At the same time, employees should have breaks in work with saving wages.
If these rights of employees are violated, they can apply to the Labor Inspectorate, the report says.
It should be noted that since August 5, there has been a strong heat in Azerbaijan. The air temperature fluctuates around +40 degrees Celsius during the day. In the lowlands, the heat reaches + 42 + 43 degrees.
Such weather will remain until August 10, weather forecasters say. -05D-

A fire has erupted at the Experimental and Testing Production of the Scientific Research Institute of SOCAR (the state oil company) in the Surakhani district of Baku, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported. "Thanks to the urgent and necessary measures taken by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the spread of the fire to neighboring areas, including nearby residential buildings, has been prevented," the statement reads. Efforts to extinguish the fire are still ongoing.
