Baku/01.03.21/Turan: The Monitoring Center under the Language Commission called the use of the Azerbaijani language in the media unsatisfactory.

According to the Monitoring Center, fines have already been applied to violators after warnings. If the warnings are ignored, not only presenters and journalists will be fined, but also the organizations in which they work.

The director of the Center, Sevinj Aliyeva, noted that according to the results of monitoring the sites, the situation is not entirely satisfactory. According to her, the disturbance is the violation of lexical and syntactic norms, and not spelling and spelling rules.

It should be noted that individuals are fined 100-200 manats for violating the norms of the state language in the media and on advertising media, officials - 300-400 manats, and legal entities - 500-1000 manats.

The Monitoring Center under the State Language Commission was established on August 1, 2019. A public legal entity controls the use of the state language of Azerbaijan, ensures the protection of the norms of the literary language in the media, Internet resources and advertising media financed from the state budget.

The center is managed by a supervisory board and director. The Supervisory Board consists of a chair and four members representing public, scientific and educational institutions. The term of office of the council members is 4 years. The Council acts on a voluntary (gratuitous) basis. — 0—
