Lapshin Case Submitted to Baku Grave Crimes Court
Baku / 13.06.17 / Turan: The trial of the blogger Alexander Lapshin will be held in the Baku Grave Crimes Court. According to a source in law enforcement agencies, the case has been handed over to Judge Alovsat Abbbasov.
The preparatory meeting can be held at the end of June.
Lapshin"s lawyer Eduard Chernin told Turan he does not have information on the transfer of the case to the court. However, he added, it was expected that this would happen, he noted.
Lapshin himself, who had previously complained of a tachycardia, is still in the first-aid post. However, his condition has improved, and there are no complaints about the conditions of his detention.
At the end of May, Lapshin was visited by his mother.
A citizen of Russia, Ukraine and Israel, Alexander Lapshin, was prosecuted for illegally visiting the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and appeals against the territorial integrity of the country.
At the end of 2016 he was detained in Belarus and extradited to Azerbaijan on February 7, 2017. He faces several years in prison. -06B-
