On July 9, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the detention of Sadigov among those who "committed unlawful appeals in social networks in connection with the energy blackout and an attempt on the head of Ganja." "Although Sadigov was detained in Jalilabad, he was arrested by the decision of the Narimanov District Court of Baku for 30 days under the Articles 510 (minor hooliganism) and 535.1 (not subordination to the lawful demands of the police). On the eve, the International Committee to Protect Journalists' Rights called on the Azerbaijani authorities to immediately release Sadigov.
