Mahsud Mahmudov, who calls himself a blogger, will stand trial
Baku/26.01.22/Turan: Magsud Mahmudov arrested last year in Ukraine and wanted on charges of fraud, will face trial.
Baku Court of Grave Crimes informed Turan that the trial will be chaired by Faik Ganiev.
Mahmudov is accused of fraud on a large scale (Article 178.3.2) and re-theft of valuables (Article 183.2.2) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
It ought to be noted that over the past 20 years Mahmudov was repeatedly prosecuted for fraud and deception of citizens. Inflicted a lot of people a huge financial damage.
Later he accused the Ministry of National Security of illegal prosecution and deprivation of his business. On this basis he fled the country, calling himself a victim of arbitrary rule by the authorities. While abroad, he often appeared on Youtube with "exposés."
In 2021, he was arrested in Ukraine at the request of Azerbaijan and extradited to Baku. -02D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
