Mass poisoning in Shamakhy
On 16 July, a mass poisoning occurred at a wedding in Malikchobanly village of Shamakhy region.
The Association for the Management of Medical Territorial Divisions (TABIB) told the Turan news agency that 21 people were hospitalized with poisoning in Shamakhy region central hospital, five of them minors.
«Each was given necessary medical assistance and they were discharged for outpatient treatment», the report says.
The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA) said that samples of food consumed at the wedding were taken for laboratory tests.
It proved impossible to communicate with the wedding hosts and the victims themselves.
