Baku / 10.06.17 / Turan: Mass poisoning among young children occurred in Sumgait. In recent days, about 120 young children have been admitted to Sumgait city children's hospital No.1 with diarrhea and vomiting.
As the head of the press service of the Ministry of Health, Leah Bayramova, reported, at present the life and health of the children in the hospital is not endangered. After the examination and first aid, most of the children were released home. The state of health of those remaining in the hospital is normal and after a re-examination they will also be released.
The causes of the poisoning are not clear. Samples of tests taken from the children were sent to the laboratory. The cause of the mass poisoning will be known after the conclusion of the laboratory study.
According to the Acting Director of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology Imran Abdullayev, 119 children aged 2-5 years entered the Sumgait hospitals with symptoms of poisoning over the past three days.
The survey of 54 of them continues and by the end of Saturday they will also be released. -0-
