Transport and communication projects of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus, concern over the violation of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty by Russian peacekeepers, and dissatisfaction with the refusal to open theaters are topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the meeting on January 11 of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia in Moscow and plans to restore the transport and communication system of the region.
This will allow Armenia to establish land communication with Russia and Iran through Azerbaijan. Integration of Armenia into the railway of Azerbaijan and Turkey depends on the policy pursued by the official Yerevan.
Economists note that in fact, Azerbaijan contributes to the further integration of the Mediterranean and Caspian basins into the Great Silk Road and the North-South corridor. This creates new transport opportunities for connecting Central Asia and Europe, as well as with Turkey.
The website Azpolitika.info.az writes that the Russian peacekeepers continue to violate the sovereignty of Azerbaijan. Thus, Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu considers it important to sign a document on the status of Russian peacekeepers in Karabakh. The key issue is the role of peacekeepers in controlling traffic through the Lachin corridor.
Karabakh is Azerbaijani land and entry should be controlled by Azerbaijan.
The statement of the Turkish minister reflects the existence of such a problem, therefore, the deployment of posts of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, customs and border guards in the Lachin corridor is a necessity.
The website Müsavat.com discusses the likelihood of Moscow raising the issue of the status of Karabakh. This issue can be used by Moscow to put pressure on Azerbaijan. At the same time, the Kremlin can forget this topic in order to prevent Paris and Washington from settling.
The website Moderator.az writes about the actors' dissatisfaction with the fact that theaters are not opening. People's Artist, director of the Baku Children's and Youth Theater Intigam Soltan considers the refusal to open theaters absurd. This is a blow to culture, he said. The director Nijat Kazimov is of the same opinion, calling for the resumption of rehearsals and the normal operation of theaters.
