The reasons for the increase in recent days in the number of people infected with coronavirus, the attitude to the ban on leaving the house on weekends, and inadequate food purchases due to this ban are the topics of today's media.
Are citizens guilty?
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about the lack of citizens' sense of responsibility. Under the strict quarantine regime, the number of infected and deceased was significantly less, however, after the regime was softened, their number increased significantly.
From June 6, a strict quarantine regime will be in effect for two months on weekends, when shops will not work, and it will not be possible to go outside. Before finding an antiviral vaccine, everyone has to deal with the virus, and it must turn into a lifestyle.
WHO warns that the current situation is no better than the situation at the beginning of the year.
This decision is wrong
The website Sfera.az gives the opinion of an expert who considers it erroneous to introduce a ban on leaving the house on weekends for two months. In connection with the ban, people massively buy food in stores. This can complicate the infection situation.
On weekends, experts suggest closing restaurants, cafes, entertainment centers and shopping centers so that there is no crowding. Going out and spreading the virus are in no way connected. Some countries do not even have a quarantine regime, but the spread of the virus is the same as in countries where the regime is in place. Many experts consider the bans imposed on weekends meaningless, because citizens will still behave the same during the work week.
A two-day ban or ...
Yeniavaz.com is also discussing a ban on leaving the house on weekends. In particular, they are discussing the purchase by citizens of food for two days. Experts believe that this situation will affect prices, and they will jump, and there may be a shortage of food. Experts cite Turkey as an example, where such quarantine lasts more than a month, and food products, as a result, have gone up by 4%.
