The lawyer noted that on December 30, a doctor was called to M.Huseynov and injections were given. "Due to holidays, we do not have access to penitentiary institutions. We will be able to find out what injections were given to him only after visiting Mehman Huseynov after the holidays," the lawyer said. The transfer of the blogger to the pre-trial detention is connected with the preliminary investigation against him in a new criminal case.
* Mehman Huseynov was arrested in March 2017 and sentenced to 2 years in prison under a libel suit filed by the head of the Nasimi police. On December 26, he was charged with a new charge of beating a jail employee and placed in a punishment cell. In protest, he went on a dry hunger strike. Human rights activists are convinced that Huseynov is being persecuted for exposing corruption among high-ranking officials, as well as criticizing the authorities. -05B06--
