Monitoring Does Not Detect Bird Flu
Baku / 28.01.20 / Turan: During the epidemiological monitoring of bird flu, conducted on January 13-17 in the territory of several regions of Azerbaijan, bird flu was not found, the Food Safety Agency said in a statement.
According to the same source, pathological material was taken from 66 carcasses of various species of birds obtained on the Absheron Peninsula, in national parks and reserves in Shabran, Agjabadi, Salyan and Lankaran regions, as well as in the coastal areas of the country. In addition, blood samples were taken from poultry in 250 households, the report said.
It should be noted that on the Iranian coast of the Caspian Sea in the immediate vicinity of Azerbaijan, in recent days, a mass death of migratory birds has been recorded. According to Iranian media, the number of birds that died from an unknown disease amounted to about 5 thousand. In this regard, Iranian authorities have banned the shooting of wild birds. -03D-
