Musavat Party activist arrested for 25 days
Baku/14.10.21/Turan: Member of the "Musavat" Party Rovshan Huseynov was arrested for 25 days.
He was detained on October 13 in the street and taken to the 30th branch of the Surakhani district police department. The same day, the Surakhani court arrested him for 25 days finding him guilty under Article 535.1 (failure to obey the police) of the administrative offences code, Mustafa Hajibeyli, head of Musavat's press service, said.
The Party is unaware what exactly the activist was charged with. He was tried without a lawyer and not allowed to contact his family.
"Musavat will hire a trusted lawyer to defend him and appeal the arrest. The Party believes the arrest to be politically motivated».
Musavat explains Huseynov's arrest as being due to the activists' procession on 11 October to the monument of Mammad Emin Rasulzadeh in Novkhani settlement on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Musavat's creation.
The police created obstacles for the members of "Musavat" to continue procession, and Huseynov sharply protested against the actions of law enforcement officers.-0-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
