NGO State Support Council announces a new contest
The Executive Secretary of the NGO State Support Council Farasat Gurbanov held a press conference on Friday in connection with the announcement of a new contest for 2015. According to him, this year 6,600,000 manat have been allocated for the Council (last year the figure was about 5 million AZN.)
According to Gurbanov, 3,000,000 manat were intended to grant projects (in 2013 this amounted to 1, 414,000 manat.)
He also said that 300,000 manat were not used, as the number of NGOs did not provide timely reports on the projects.
Then Gurbanov said that many submitted projects do not meet the standard. He recalled that the draft will be accepted until January 15, 2015. Topics of the projects were human rights, democracy, social theme, international cooperation, health, regional issues, the Karabakh problem.
According to the rules, to ask for 30,000 manat for the project, NGOs must submit a document that for the last three years 50,000manat were spent on implementation of the projects.
