Oktaya Gyulalyeva is waiting for another operation
Baku/18.06.20/Turan: Human rights activist Oktay Gyulalyev, who is being treated at the American clinic in Istanbul, is waiting for another operation on his head. This was reported by his wife Firuza Gyulaliyeva.
She recalled that during an operation at the American Clinic in December 2019, part of the human rights defender’s cranial bone was removed. In its place was put artificial material, which now needs to be removed and the bone replaced.
Gyulalyev has already undergone several operations on the brain, the first of which was delayed in Baku last October. After complicating his condition, the human rights activist was transported by special aircraft to Istanbul, where he underwent two more operations in different clinics.
The time of the next - fourth operation is still unknown, said the spouse, noting that his condition remains stable and without significant changes. The human rights activist never regained full consciousness, although he moves his hands and reacts to what is happening around.
Recall that Oktay Gyulalyev was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in the center of Baku on October 29, 2019. He was taken to the hospital, but the operation was only done on October 31 in a private clinic.
On November 1, he was transferred to the Neurological Republican Hospital in Baku.
On November 5, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, he was sent to Istanbul to the Eurasian Clinic, and on November 20, his treatment continued at the "American Clinic" of Istanbul. -05D-
