Passengers report shortage of air tickets to Nakhchivan
Baku/02.07.23/Turan: Passengers traveling to Nakhchivan and back declare that they have no tickets for flights since last Friday.
Since June 30, a resident of Nakhchivan V.M. has not been able to return home due to the lack of tickets.
“Whoever has acquaintances with connections, they can get tickets. Or tickets are offered at very high prices,” he told Turan.
MP Fazil Mustafa considers this problem "artificial".
“Low-capacity aircraft are allocated for flights to Nakhchivan. The cost of a ticket to Nakhchivan is set by the state and is only 60 manats, and it is not profitable for the air carrier to send large planes there and introduce additional flights,”
Mustafa told Turan. According to him, the planes are assigned to commercially profitable destinations.
There are signs of corruption in this issue.
“The shortage of tickets shows that there are few flights and online sales are not organized up to the mark. This issue should be seriously discussed at the government level,” Mustafa said.
Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC told Turan that AZAL fully satisfies the demand of passengers for flights to Nakhchivan and back, and not a single passenger is left without a ticket in this direction.
The company noted that the number of daily flights to Nakhchivan has been increased from 10 to 12.
It should be noted that since the early 1990s, Armenia has been blocking overland communication between Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.—21B06-

At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
