Another PFPA Activist Detained

Baku / 08.28.19 / Turan: A member of the Absheron district branch of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Gorkhmaz Aliyev was detained by police on August 25.

Despite the fact that the activist was released on Sunday, on August 26 he was detained again.

"According to our information, physical pressure was exerted on Gorkhmaz Aliyev and tomorrow he will appear in court. It is still unknown what they charge him with," Turan's correspondent was told in PFPA.

According to the same source, Aliyev is a disabled person of the second group.

The party believes that the real reason for Aliyev"s detention was his video report on social networks about the sale of places for graves in cemeteries.

Aliyev is the sixth PFPA activist detained in the past week. Five activists were sentenced to administrative arrests from 10 to 60 days. -21C06--
