Police impede concert of rap group
Law enforcement agencies impeded the concert of the rap group Kabus (Ghost) called Ergenekon and scheduled for February 16 in the cinema Vatan.
The concert announcement was circulated for two days before. However, on Sunday afternoon staff of the 22nd Nasimi district police station came to the cinema and banned the concert.
Police also rudely treated with reporters interested in the reasons for the ban.
Shahriyar Medzhidzadeh, head of the Center of National Thought, which organized the concert, said there is no legal provision that it is necessary to notify the police before holding a concert. He noted that the organizers suffered material and moral damages and demanded punishment of the perpetrators. - 05D06-
