Political émigré Rally in Germany Condemning Police Violence in Azerbaijan
Baku / 11.06.20 / Turan: Today a group of Azerbaijani political emigrants living in Germany held a rally in front of the residence of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The rally was held in protest against police violence in Azerbaijan.
Protesters raised portraits of political prisoners and posters with the slogans: “Trial for Vilayat Eyvazov!” and “Stop Police Violence!”
The speakers condemned the military operations of the quick reaction regiment in the Yeni Yasamal housing estate, accompanied by cruelty against citizens and demanded the punishment of those who authorized this operation, in particular, the Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov.
Former "prisoner of conscience", journalist Afgan Mukhtarly called on the German government to "reconsider its attitude to dictators." In his opinion, Germany should not cooperate with the anti-democratic regime of Azerbaijan.
“The EU, due to oil and gas issues, should not remain indifferent to anti-democratic actions in Azerbaijan, mass beatings and arrests of citizens,” Mukhtarli said. -16D-
