Population of Azerbaijan reaches 10,197,146 people
Since the beginning of 2024 the population of Azerbaijan has grown by 16,376 or 0.2% and reached 10,197,146 people as of June 1. This is stated in the report of the State Statistics Committee.
At that, 54.5% of the country's population lives in urban areas, 45.4% in rural areas. 49.8% of the population is male and 50.2 % is female.

On July 13, the opposition Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) decided to boycott the parliamentary elections. Other opposition forces, however, are participating in the elections, stating that they aim to change the current situation through their participation.
