Preparatory court hearing in the case of AnarMamedov, the Editor-in-Chief of the website Criminalaz.com
Baku / 28.12.18 / Turan: A preparatory trial in the case ofAnarMamedov, the Editor-in-Chief of the website Criminalaz.com, took place to day in the Baku Serious Crimes Court. He was brought to responsibility in connection with the publications about the events in Ganja and the energy blackout at the Mingachevir HES.The lawyer requested the termination of the criminal case. However, the petition was rejected.The court hearings on the merits are scheduled for January 11.
On July 9, the Prosecutor General"s Office filed a lawsuit on the dissemination to the Internet of "false information" and "illegal appeals" in connection with the assassination attempt on the head of Ganja ElmarVeliyev and energy blackout in Mingachevir in the summer of this year.
After that, the prosecutor's office appealed to the Ministry of Communications to block the sites "Bastainfo.com", "criminalaz.com", "topxeber.az" and "fia.az".
On November 30, Mamedov was transferred to the status of the accused. In particular, he was charged under the Criminal Code: 281.2 (appeals against the state), 309.2 (abuse of office) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code.Similar accusations were also made against Bastafofo"s editor Mustafa Hajibeyli. -05B06-
