President of Azerbaijan does not intend to change the current course

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the New Year  televised address to the people called the  year 2015  a  year of economic growth for the country  under a three-fold drop in oil prices, despite the deepening economic, political and military crisis in the region and regional growth risks, threats, new challenges.

"As a result of Azerbaijan of a sound economic policies was  ensured an  economic growth, non-oil sector in Azerbaijan  developed. I am particularly pleased that the growth of non-oil industry amounted to more than seven percent," he said.

At the same time, in his  speech on the military, political and socio-economic progress, prepared by  speechwriters in the best Soviet traditions, nothing was said about serious economic and social problems the country  has faced as a result of nearly one hundred percent devaluation of the manat.

Particularly troubling statement in the  president's speech  is that in the coming years, Azerbaijan will not retreat from the principled policy, will continue the  current independent policy. "Let those who are trying to campaign against us take into account. Their attempts  are in vain, they have no effect and will never affect our policy. "

This statement should be seen as a message to the United States and the European Union, whose relations with Baku greatly aggravated  because of the refusal of Baku to carry out political and economic reforms in order to build a democratic state independent   from  the  oil factor. Observers note that just  the rejection of this policy has caused the current economic collapse in Azerbaijan.

In the New Year's night, many Azerbaijanis were waiting  from the president  answers about tomorrow's unpredictable future, but have not received them. The president's speech lasted 14 minutes and was more like a New Year report  to the people, which expected a warm comforting words  in these difficult times mentioned by the guarantor of the constitution.

It is noteworthy that the speech of the Russian President Vladimir Putin lasted more than three minutes, and was aimed at the spiritual support of the nation, which also turned out to be hostage to the global economic crisis and challenges.-0-
