Prosecutor proposed to sentence ex-head of Imishli district to 13 years of imprisonment
Baku/01.07.22/Turan: The trial of the former head of the Imishli region executive power William Hajiyev is coming to an end in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.
On July 1, the end of the trial was announced at the court hearing.
In his speech, the public prosecutor asked the court to sentence Hajiyev to 13 years of imprisonment to be served in a strict regime penal colony.
The prosecutor also offered to confiscate the seized property of Hajiyev in favor of the state. The process will continue on 8 July.
Hajiyev was detained on May 5, 2020, during a special operation carried out by officers of the State Security Service.
He was charged with misappropriation of state funds, taking bribes, abuse of office, and a number of other crimes. -06В-
