Prosecutor's office initiated cases on violations in irrigation water delivery
Baku/15.08.22/Turan: Criminal cases have been initiated against officials who illegally cut off the supply of irrigation water to land users.
This is reported by the Prosecutor General's Office,
Recall that the Anti-Corruption Department detained a representative of the executive power of the Shamkir region, Elchin Abbasov.
It was established that in 2021-2022, Abbasov, as an official, took bribes from land users in the amount of 500 manats for each hectare for supplying water to cultivated areas.
Besides, Abbasov partially restricted the supply of irrigation water, causing damage to farms. He was charged under Articles 308.2 (abuse of office, entailing grave consequences) and 311.3.2 (repeated bribery) of the Criminal Code.
For similar acts, criminal cases have also been initiated against associations of water users "Bereket", "Garavelli", as well as officials of the Neftchala irrigation sstem management.
Investigative measures are being carried out in both cases. -05D06-
