Baku/30.03. 23/Turan: A protest rally demanding the release from custody of the activist of the Popular Front Party  Zamin Salayev took place today in front of the Ministry of Justice building. The protesters chanted: "Freedom to Zamin Salayev!", "Freedom to political prisoners!"

The police did not allow the protesters to approach the building of the Ministry of Justice and began to detain them. In total, more than 50 people were detained and taken to the police stations of the Yasamal district, the PNFA reported.

However, an employee of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nurlan Aliyev, told Turan that there was no information about the detainees, the participants of the action were "removed from the territory."

Salayev was detained on February 7 on false charges of hooliganism. He denied the charges and began a hunger strike in the pre-trial detention center, which has been going on for the 52nd day. ---06B---
