Protests Continue in Siyazan (UPDATED - Video-10)
The protests with social demands in the town Siazan (90 km north of Baku), which started yesterday, turned into clashes with police.
The night before the police began arresting the protesters. However, hundreds of people gathered in front of the executive power on the morning of January 13, 2016, demanding release of the detainees.
Police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the people. Special Forces were brought to the town.
The information about the protests and the detainees was confirmed by the local police. According to the source, the action was dispersed, as it had not been agreed with the town authorities.
The power takes measures to suppress the protests.
Recall that similar protests demanding not to allow price increases were held in four regions of the country, Lenkoran, Fizuli, Agjabedi and Siyazan, on January 12.
The government does not comment on these protests. However, the head of the Lankaran region said the people were unhappy with the ban on the sale of alcohol for cash. -06D-
