Quarantine regime extended in Azerbaijan for another two months

Arshad Ibrahimov, the head of the dunyaninsesi.az website operating in Ganja , was detained by employees of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOCP) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He was charged under  the Article 282.2.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (extortion by threats, committed repeatedly.) By the decision of the Narimanov District Court of Baku, a preventive measure was chosen against him in the form of arrest for a period of 4 months, Tural Ibrahimov, the brother of the head of the site, told Turan.

The estate concern for the defenders of the fatherland is declared from high stands in Azerbaijan. Indeed, there are many cases of solving the social problems of veterans and invalids of the second Karabakh war. Some are even appointed to leading positions in government institutions.  But there are occasional cases.

Azerbaijan is set to hold extraordinary presidential elections on February 7, 2024, marking a critical political moment for the country. As the process of nominating candidates commenced on December 9 and the deadline for document submissions looms on January 7, the ongoing quarantine measures due to the lingering COVID-19 pandemic are casting a shadow over the electoral landscape.

On December 12-14, a sharp drop in temperature and intense precipitation is expected in Baku and Absheron, forecasters of the Ministry of Ecology report. During this period, the strength of the northeast wind will be 15-18 meters per second. The air temperature will drop by 3-5 degrees and will be +3+6 at night, and +6+ degrees during the day. Intense precipitation is also expected in the regions of the country during this period, and snow is expected in mountainous areas. The strength of the east wind will be 15-20 meters per second.
