Azerbaijan won nine gold medals at the Paralympic Games
Baku/08.29.21/Turan: The number of gold medals for the Azerbaijani team at the Paralympic Games has increased to nine.
29 august azerbaijani parajudoist Dursadaf Kerimova (70 kg) became the winner of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, defeating Zarina Baybatina from Kazakhstan in the final.
Judoka Ilham Zakiev (100 kg) won the bronze medal. Previously, he twice became the champion and once the bronze medalist of the Paralympic Games.
Another gold medal was brought to Azerbaijan by the shot pusher in the F-53 category Elvin Astanov.
He threw a projectile at 8.77 m, which became a Paralympic record in this category.
And the javelin thrower Hamid Heydarli set a world record for this sport for athletes with disabilities on 28 August. Throwing a projectile at 51.42 m he won the gold medal of the games.
The total number of gold medals in Azerbaijan has reached 9. The national team has 3 more bronze medals.
