REAL Activists Summoned to Police En Masse
Baku / 31.05.18 / Turan: On Friday, another 15-20 activists of the REAL party were summoned to the police stations, Natig Jafarli, a member of the Mejlis of this party, said.
At the same time, he noted that over the past two days, four activists of the party had been arrested administratively.
Another 15 people were summoned to the Sabail and Yasamal district police departments on the evening of May 30, and released by warning at midnight.
Calls to the police were also in other areas of the capital and lists of activists are being specified.
Jafarli regarded the acts as an inadequate response of the authorities to a peaceful procession on the occasion of the Republic Day.
"For the first time representatives of the new generation without any political slogans held a festive event. Apparently this further angered the authorities.
Although the participants did not sound political slogans, it was a potentially protesting electorate. Apparently, the authorities want to frighten young people with such "preventive" measures," Jafarli said.
Recall that on May 28 in the center of Baku a march was held, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani People's Republic despite attempts by the police to disrupt the action. -06D--
