Religious Activist Released after Being Detained at Airport
Baku / 06.02.20 / Turan: Elvin Muradov, a member of the Muslim Unity Movement (MUM), who was detained at the Baku airport and was arriving from Moscow the day before, was released late in the evening.
As Turan was told in the MUM, Muradov was taken from the airport to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and released only at 23.00.
The MUM linked the detention of Muradov, who lives mainly in Russia, with the writing of poems and songs about the organization’s leader Taleh Bagirzadeh and other arrested activists.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not comment on the reason for the detention of Muradov. –06D-
