Sahib Rustamli Released from Police (updated)
Baku / 07.07.19 / Turan: Sahib Rustamli was released from the police two hours after his arrest. About this he wrote on his Facebook page.
"Friends, thank everyone who was concerned that I was taken to the police. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of "mutual understanding". I am already at home," he wrote. -06D-

Member of PFPA Supreme Majlis Detained
Baku / 07.07.19 / Turan: Member of the Supreme Majlis of the Popular Front Party Sahib Rustamli was detained in Sabirabad.
According to the PFPA, Rustamli was taken out of the house on the morning of July 3 without any explanation.
The PFPA regards the detention of Rustamli as a continuation of repression against party members. Turan"s attempt to get comments from the Sabirabad police failed.
Earlier, on June 28, the head of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli was detained in Baku while participating in a charity marathon. After half an hour he was released. -06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony. The invitation, delivered by Member of the European Parliament Michael Bloss at the COP29 climate conference, comes as Ibadoglu remains under house arrest and prohibited from leaving Azerbaijan.
