Search for Missing Oil Workers Not Yet Yielded Results
The search for the 23 oil workers lost after the December 4 accident on the Guneshli offshore oilfield platform still is to no avail.
As stated in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the search area was extended and several ships and helicopters and an airplane are involved. Search is also conducted along the coast.
At the same time efforts are continued to prevent oil spill and quench the fire on the platform. Experts find it difficult to say when it will be extinguished.
Recall that of the 63 people on the platform, 33 were saved. The bodies of 7 oilmen were found later and 23 others were lost. -16D-
