Baku/19.08.21/Turan: Muslims of Azerbaijan today celebrate Ashura, the climax of Maharramlik mourning. Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, entry to mosques and shrines is restricted. Police patrols are keeping guard around all the temples.

Small groups of believers made processions to mosques. No excesses have so far been.

In the village of Mashtaga, the police prevented believers from entering the Alley of Martyrs. Note that many citizens distribute bottled water for free.

At the same time, a blood donation campaign is being held in Ashura.
