Baku/15.03.22/Turan: Snowfall has hit a number of regions of Azerbaijan. By 11:00 am on Tuesday, the thickness of snow cover in Sarybash (Gakh) reached 65 cm, 44 cm in Shahdag, 29 cm in Altyagaj, 23 cm in Khaltan, 20 cm in Dashkesan, 10 cm in Sheki, 9 cm in Lerik, 8 cm in Geygel, 5 cm in Agdere (Ordubad).
Temperatures in Baku on March 14 were 2 degrees below normal. In Baku and Absheron the minimum temperature was +4, in Nakhchivan autonomous republic it was - 8 degrees below zero, in mountainous areas - 15, in lowlands +3. -05D06-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
