Stormy Wind and Mudflows Cause Serious Damage to Dashkesanu
Baku / 25.06.18 / Turan: On the night of June 25, downpours and thunderstorms hit the mountainous Dashkesan region bordering on Armenia. This was preceded by a stormy wind. The element raged for 2.5 hours.
As the head of the district Ahad Abiyev told Turan, mudflows and a stormy wind brought down several bridges, knocked dozens of electric poles and gas pipes, tore up the roofs of houses and outbuildings, and washed off roads and electric transformers.
The largest damage was done to the villages Tazakend, Pirvedir, Rasullah, Khoshbulag, Gazakholchular, and Garagullar.
The greatest damage was done to houses and buildings along mountain rivers.
Several people were injured and hospitalized. After providing primary care, they were allowed to go home.
In order to eliminate the consequences of the disaster, an operational headquarters was set up in the district with the participation of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which took care of counting the damage and measures to eliminate its consequences.
In his turn, the representative of Azerishıg OJSC informed that active works are being carried out to restore the power supply of the Dashkesan region, which will be restored in the near future. -16 / 03D-
