Supporters of Gubad Ibadoglu held a protest in front of the Court of Appeal
Baku/03.11.23/Turan: Today, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed the complaint of opposition politician Gubad Ibadoglu against the refusal to release him from jail on property bail, the lawyer Zibeyda Sadygova reported. She pointed to the further deterioration of Ibadoglu's health.
"The level of sugar in the blood is increasing more and more. The expansion of the aortic root continues. We appealed to the Narimanov District Court to have him transferred to house arrest when making bail. However, the court did not grant the petition. We filed a complaint against this decision, but the Court of Appeal refused," Sadygova said.
After the Court of Appeal session, members of the Democracy and Welfare Party, headed by Ibadoglu, held a protest rally in front of the court. They held up posters with portraits of the politician, chanted slogans demanding the release of Gubad Ibadoglu, as well as activist Bakhtiar Hajiyev and ex-MP Nazim Beidemirli.
The action took place without incident, there were no detainees. ---0---

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35. The court ordered the property be returned to its rightful owner, Samaya Aliyeva. However, the Ministry of Justice intervened, citing a presidential decree from July 1, 2004, which approved a state program for improving the living and working conditions of refugees. Under this directive, refugees without alternative housing cannot be evicted until they are provided with a replacement residence by the Executive Authority.
