The Court of Appeal leaves Bayram Mammadov in custody
The Baku Court of Appeal considered the complaint of Bayram Mamedov, the activist of the youth movement NIDA on the refusal to release him under house arrest. According to lawyer Elchin Sadigov, the complaint was rejected. The defense did not agree with the court's decision, and will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. The lawyer noted that the young man is not only reasonably detained, but also was tortured by the police in the early days of arrest.
Gias Ibrahimov and Bayram Mammadov are accused of large scale drug trafficking. However, the true reason for their arrest became the graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev: "Congratulations on the slaves!" And "Down with the system!". The case against Ibrahimov was submitted to the court.
Amnesty International recognized the young people "prisoners of conscience". –06С-
