The Court of Appeal starts considering the complaint of Tofig Yagublu
Baku/28.09.20/Turan: On September 28, the Baku Court of Appeal chaired by Elmar Rahimov began considering a complaint by opposition politician Tofig Yagublu.
He appealed against the decision of the Nizami Court of Baku to imprison him for 4 years and three months on charges of hooliganism.
The court rejected the lawyers' request to return Yagublu his car and phone.
The court granted the petition to return the case to the Nizami court so that the lawyers could familiarize themselves with it.
“We did not see the decision of the Nizami court and did not make our comments,” lawyer Agyl Laijev told Turan.
After the verdict was passed, Tofig Yagublu went on a hunger strike and held it for 17 days, having achieved his release from arrest. He is currently under house arrest and seeking full rehabilitation. -03-
