The regional TV channel became a republic-wide
Baku / 28.12.17 / Turan: The National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) of Azerbaijan announced the provision of an unlimited license for nationwide broadcasting on the 31st frequency of Turkel TV LLC, reads the message of the NTRS. On 14 November the NTRC announced a contest for the broadcasting of a specialized news channel on the 31st frequency. Besides "Turkel TV" LLC, "BAKU ART LAB" LLC and "MEDİA MASTER" LLC are also participating in the competition. According to the NTRC, LLC "Turkel TV" presented "a better creative plan, has a more reasonable material and technical base and has professional human resources". "Turkel TV" has been broadcasting since 2010 in the western regions of Azerbaijan. The channel operates under the patronage of SOCAR. The general director of the TV channel is Nadir Shafiyev, who in the past worked on state television and the private channel "Sara TV". It was also decided to transfer from January 1, 2018 the state-owned TV channels AzTV and Culture TV in Baku and Absheron to a higher-quality digital broadcasting format - HD.
