The term for the group of convicts in the "Ganja case" was reduced
Baku/17.09.21/Turan: On September 17, the Supreme Court, chaired by Alasgar Novruzov, reduced the terms of arrest for four convicts in the so-called "Ganja case".
Human rights activist Rasul Jafarov told Turan that the terms were reduced:
Bahram Aliyev - 10 months (sentenced to 15 years); Khabib Gurbanov for 3 years (sentenced for 8 years); Mirza Huseynov and Asif Javadov were sentenced to 6 months (sentenced to 5 years).
In July 2018, an attempt was made on the life of the head of the city Elmar Veliyev in Ganja, a few days later, residents of the city held a rally, demanding the dismissal of Veliyev for regularly insulting the townspeople. The rally turned into a confrontation with the police.
According to official figures, two police officers were killed in the clash.
After that, more than 80 people were arrested, most of whom were convicted on charges of riots, assault on police, etc. -02D-
