The volcano on "Dashly" island awoke for the first time after 1945 – seismologist
Baku / 05.07.21 Turan: The eruption of a mud volcano on Dashly island started on July 4 at 21.51 to last eight minutes, director general of the Republican Center of the Seismological Service, Gurban Yetirmishli told at a press conference on July 5.
According to him, the gas escaped to the surface from a depth of 1.48 km. The height of the flame column was more than 100 meters.
Added to this can be that there have been no eruptions on Dashly island for a long time. The last time it took place in 1945. "There are many volcanoes in the Caspian Sea," he said.
At the same time, Yetirmishli denied rumors about the dead and injured due to the yesterday's eruption.- 05D06-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died.
