Tofig Yagublu felt bad at trial
Baku / 21.08.20 / Turan: Trial in the case of Tofig Yagublu, a member of the National Council of Democratic Forces and the Musavat Party, continued on August 21 in the Nizami District Court.
At the beginning of the session, he appealed to Judge Nariman Mehdiyev with a demand to let his relatives, journalists and PFPA leader Ali Karimli into the hall.
However, the judge did not satisfy this requirement under the pretext of the decision of the Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers on the inadmissibility of crowding due to the corona virus pandemic. This provoked indignation of Yagublu, who pointed out that the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers cannot be higher than the Constitution.
Further, at the trial, the inspector of the traffic police Malik Manafov was heard as a witness. He was unable to answer the questions of protection related to the accident. The inspector refused to give his mobile phone number in response to a request from lawyers. For protection, it was important to check with the mobile operator if there was a police officer at the scene of the accident on the day of the incident?
Outraged by the actions of the witness, Tofig Yagublu called him to decency, after which he felt bad and the trial was postponed until 25 August.
* On March 22, a parked car in which Tofig Yagublu was sitting was driven by a car driven by citizen Elkhan Jabrailov. After that, Jabrailov entered into a fight with Yagublu, accusing him of the accident. The Nizami district police opened a criminal case under Article 221.3 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism using objects as weapons).
Yagublu himself and his colleagues called the incident a provocation in order to condemn the oppositionist for his criticism of the government on social networks. International human rights organizations condemned the arrest of Yagublu. Yagublu was previously sentenced to three years in 2013 on charges of inciting riots in Ismayilli.
He was also arrested on October 19, 2019 for participating in an uncoordinated National Council protest and was tortured by the police. -06B--

At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
