Traffic Police Urge Drivers to Be Careful in Bad Weather
Baku/19.01.21/Turan: The country's traffic police called on the drivers in connection with the upcoming bad weather and ice in the next two to three days.
The police urge not to use faulty cars, as well as take into account the condition of the tires. Due to the fact that the likelihood of vehicles slipping will be higher than usual, drivers are advised not to exceed speed, not to make sharp maneuvers or sudden braking. It is necessary to check the serviceability of the wipers and ensure the supply of antifreeze to the engine cooling system and windshield.
“Drivers who do not have the skills to drive on snowy and icy roads are asked not to drive, as driving in such weather conditions can endanger the lives and health of themselves and other road users,” the appeal says.
In turn, the representative of the State Agency for Roads Anar Najafli announced the readiness to fight against ice on the roads of the country. Thus, 800 tons of salt and sand have been procured. 400 units of heavy equipment are ready to clear the roads.
It should be reminded that heavy snowfalls are expected from January 20 throughout the country. Heavy snowfall, strong winds and a drop in temperature will continue until January 22.-02D-
