Two “journalists” - racketeers detained
Baku/12.08.21/Turan: Security officials detained Sanan Abdullayev and Ilgar Atayev red-handed while receiving money extorted from an official. The detainees posed as "journalists", according to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
The detainees were brought to justice in the framework of a criminal case initiated at the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General.
The investigation believes that Abdullayev, having entered into a criminal conspiracy with Atayev, who filmed on the “Haber’’ channel on YouTube, disseminated a video about the allegedly illegal actions of officials of the Executive Power of the Goranboy region. They extorted 4,000 manats from the head of the Executive Power for the removal of these videos.
Abdullayev and Atayev were detained during an operational event on August 10. They were charged under Article 182.2.1 (extortion committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The investigation continues.-06D-
