U.S. Embassy joined EducationUSA Alumni Fair to Promote Study in the United States
Baku/20.05.23/Turan: The U.S. Embassy participated in the 13th annual Alumni Fair organized by EducationUSA at the Baku American Center located on the Azerbaijan University of Languages campus. The event aimed to provide prospective undergraduate and graduate students with information about study opportunities at colleges and universities in the United States.
Azerbaijani individuals who had previously studied in the United States, along with U.S. diplomats, attended the fair to engage with students, address their queries, and promote studying in the United States. The fair featured representatives from more than 30 U.S. higher education institutions, including state universities, community colleges, and liberal arts colleges.
During the fair, the alumni emphasized the diverse range of choices available for higher education in the United States. They encouraged students to explore various options to find a school that best suited their individual needs. Chargé d’Affaires Hugo Guevara, who attended the event, expressed his delight at seeing Azerbaijani and American alumni representing over 30 different U.S. higher education institutions. Guevara highlighted the exceptional quality of education, strong alumni networks, and extracurricular activities in the United States, emphasizing the tremendous opportunities for students.
EducationUSA is a network of international student advising centers, comprising more than 400 centers in over 170 countries, under the U.S. Department of State. The network's primary objective is to promote U.S. higher education by providing accurate and up-to-date information about accredited postsecondary institutions in the United States. EducationUSA serves as the official source for information on U.S. higher education.
The EducationUSA Advising Center in Baku operates under the American Councils for International Education. With the support of the U.S. Embassy in Baku, EducationUSA organizes two fairs annually: the U.S. Higher Education Fair and the EducationUSA Alumni Fair. Additionally, EducationUSA facilitates programs such as the Sustainable Outreach Program and Competitive College Club.
