Victims have no claims to Fuad Ahmadli

Baku/02.05.17/Turan: A judicial investigation began in the case of member of the Popular Front Party (PFPA) Fuad Ahmadli today in the  Baku Grave Crimes Court. Ahmadli was arrested in August 2016 under Article 302 of the Criminal Code (violation of the law on operational-search activities) and Point 1 Article 308 (abuse of office). In March of this year, the charges were re-qualified in paragraphs 2 of these articles, which provide for a more serious punishment. The investigation incriminates Ahmedli with the distribution of personal data of subscribers of the cellular company Azerfon, where he worked.

First, an indictment was read out at the trial. Ahmadli said that he does not consider himself guilty. Further, the lawyer Asabali Mustafayev made a number of motions. In particular, he suggested conducting an audio-video recording of the trial, excluding evidence obtained illegally from the case file, inviting the executive director of Azfron, where Ahmedli worked as an operator, as a witness.

The judge rejected the motion to record the trial, while others left without consideration.

After that, spoke Muhammad Guliyev, who was recognized as a victim. He said that he was not acquainted with the accused, but he knew his cousin. He said that now he has no complaints about Ahmadli. The accused said that he had not given any information about the victim to his cousin.

"My cousin wrote me a text message to tell me where this person is. I wrote that he is very far away, or abroad," Ahmadli said. Another victim - Samir Khalilov reported that he accidentally called one number, the user of which was a girl. "I apologized that I dialed the number by mistake and turned off the phone. After that I heard that I was put on the wanted list. The accused transferred information about my personal data to the groom of this girl," said Khalilov. He also said that did not complaint against Ahmadli.  The next hearing will be held on May 11. -35C06--
