Baku/18.07.23/Turan: Today, on July 18, about 50 young teachers – graduates of philological faculties of universities and teachers preparing them for exams held a protest rally at the Ministry of Science and Education, demanding the cancellation of the MIQ (teacher recruitment exam.) The exam was held on July 14.

Gulyar Huseynova, a teacher with 10 years of experience, said, MIQ exams conducted by the Ministry of Science and Education do not make sense. For teachers with higher education who have passed exams at universities cannot score enough points on MIG exams because the questions do not correspond to university and master's degree programs.

“The Ministry listened to complaints about the lack of time on the exam, increased the time by 30 minutes (2.5 hours), but complicated the questions. Some questions are excessively long, 40 questions on the specialty are replaced by questions on the methodology with long texts and answer options. The exams do not correspond to the framework indicated in the Ministry's governing documents, there are no textbooks for preparing for MIQ," Huseynova said.

She believes that the exam questions are much more difficult than the sample questions on the Ministry's website.

According to graduate Aferin Seidova, two years ago the ministry canceled the same exams, recognizing the results as inconsistent with the training program. "We demand the cancellation of the results of these exams, the questions of which did not correspond to the curriculum and the content of the curricula. We consider it necessary to transfer the exams for the admission of teachers to work from the Ministry of Science and Education to the State Examination Center."

Individual videos with the same protest from teachers of other educational specialties are posted on the Youtube social network.

Last week, protesting philologists met with the head of the Department of Human Resources of the Ministry of Science and Education Yeshgin Bagirov, who announced that there would be no re-examination and the questions in the exams would not be facilitated.

On July 14, they passed the MIQ exam in Azerbaijani language and literature. 7,187 teachers in the Azerbaijani sector and 196 specialists in the Russian sector.

The press service of the Ministry of Science and Education did not respond to Turan's questions about the position of the department regarding the protest of philologists. ---0--
