Ziya Mammadov Loses His Post as President of Volleyball Federation
The Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov is no longer President of the Volleyball Federation of Azerbaijan. The National Olympic Committee hosted a meeting of the Volleyball Federation, where the new President was elected.
Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov noted that discussions were held on the changes in the federation and there is a proposal to put forward for President the head of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways Javid Gurbanov.
According to him, the purpose of the federation is the conquest of a license for the Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokyo.
Then Gurbanov was elected President by a majority vote.
Speaking, Gurbanov said that significant changes are expected in volleyball, affecting the coaches, too, without specifying details. -71D-
